SHE MAKE NOISE The Album

Mastered by Adolfo Párraga Rodríguez

La Casa Encendida of Fundación Montemadrid was celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2023. During these past two decades electronic music has occupied an essential part of a program that has recognized its importance and charted its changing face while offering a new and alternative take on the club scene.
Ten years later, we are proud to present the vinyl for the She Makes Noise festival, a carefully compiled edition that gives us the opportunity to highlight the profound transformation that society has undergone in the last decade and demonstrate the important role that small cultural projects like She Makes Noise are playing in this transformation by activating tangible changes in a sector like music where programming increasingly incorporates a more equitable awareness.

The vinyl works as an artistic object and brings together some of the artists and ideas that have had their place in She Makes Noise for eight editions. Two sides on the album and two different concepts for attentive listening and dancing. Side A of the album -The Listening- proposes four themes that include vocal experimentation, Latin sounds, noise, industrial and ambient. Connected to the local fabric, the work of the Spanish Marina Herlop and Uge Pañeda (aka Okkre) is included (with an unpublished song). From Colombia, Natalia Escobar (aka Poison Arrow) and Asian American songwriter and singer Felicia Chen (aka Dis Fig).

The B side of the album -The Dancing- is based on the collective experience of dancing, the intention of transferring all the environments lived, sweated and enjoyed in the Patio and Auditorium of La Casa Encendida. Techno, electro dance, African diaspora, urban rhythms. Politics of dance and thought come together with the songs of a reference of the European club scene such as Electric Indigo, the Tunisian based in France Deena Abdelwahed, Slim Soledad from Brazil and Nídia on the outskirts of Lisbon (with an unreleased song). A few seconds after finishing the last song, you hear the bonus track composed by _deleteD, a band based in Madrid that has been the authors of the festival score since 2019.
